Dad,
There are some days when I look at you..I just look at you. I look at every wrinkle on your head and I watch every gesture you make and I know just how much I love you. And I love you a lot. And I admire you just as much.
The times when I look at you and I just can’t help but thank God for blessing me with you aren’t the times when you secretly fill my car up with gas, they aren’t even the times when you slip me pocket money, and they aren’t even the times you tell mom to buy extra egg custards because i love them so much.
They’re the times when you sit at the head of our dinning table during dinner(lunch and even breakfast) and you and mom talk about your day and ask about ours. They’re when you sit us down as a family and you tell us about current events or give us your advice/thoughts on bettering ourselves. They’re the days you’ll be driving us on long road trips and you, kuya brian and kuya chris are discussing some engineering project and every so often you’d turn up the radio to a song you like and start shimming to it. They’re the times when you call mom “Hun” and tell her that she “deserves the best” because she “is the best”. They’re the afternoons you come home from work and say my name in this silly tone that I know so well, and even when I don’t play with you back because I’m too busy or in a bad mood you’d just answer me with “I just wanted to say hi ‘cus you’re my favorite daughter….” They’re the times when you reassure me that I’m a “good kid”. They’re the times when you’d be peeling an apple and you’d peel an extra one for me.
You’re just an amazing guy. And I can’t help but look up to you. I can’t help but feel blessed. I can’t help but love you.
Happy Father’s Day, Dad.
